BCM206: BLOG POST 2

This week we explored the idea that the internet (and the technology that supports it) are reminiscent of a global nervous system. Although not completely connected to this notion directly , my idea for my Digital artefact DOES strangely reflect back to this idea of a global nervous system- but more in terms of a memory based core and the resurgent/rethinking of concepts remixed to fit new contextual environments rather than the neurological system and the interconnected ties that send messages through the system.

During our tutorial, the subject of turning a profit from our Digital Artefacts got me to stop scrolling through Reddit and put my attention span on full (FULL PRIORITY- ALL POWER DIRECTED TO THE EARS. PLEASE GOD ABSORB THIS INFORMATION). As shallow as this sounds, the possibility of carrying this project further after the assessment section is done and make it into a nifty little side business actually appeals to me (and my filthy, filthy goblin tendencies.) So I will continue tinkering with Sculptris and 3D printing and get back to y’all next week on how that turns out.

(As a quick add on seeing as i’ve been editing and uploading these things on the wackest of schedules- The Nostalgia critic approached this ideology of reboots (in terms of the movements of iconic and lasting characters/media being reintroduced into new contextual environments) with the new “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” reboot by Nickelodeon.)
